Members

The club is looking into possibly changing the meeting place for the monthly membership meeting.  If any members have any suggestions of a location or any ideas please let me know or come to the next general membership meeting. I will bring this up during my discussion.

Also Michael Clayville sent me this information on a proposed FM antenna and I thought the club members should know about it.  I sent in my response letting them know I thought it would pose a danger to the aircraft flying in the practice area.

     Here is his email

Hey guys ... is this something we want to send out to the members to get some more

voices involved?  Looks like FCC put out an announcement on this but never got

exposure to the pilot community.  So, FAA did not get any comments on it, so is

ready to approve it.  If there is opposition to this tower, it needs to get to the

FAA fast.

Subject: Radio Tower

Hi Everyone,

There is a newly proposed antenna tower south of Nampa that the FAA would like

us to comment on.

We need to get out comments to them no later than Friday February 25, 2008.

Please respond to John Goostrey at John.Goostrey@FAA.gov or Lew Sanders at

Lewis.Sanders@FAA.gov or in writing to the Boise FSDO.

The proposed antenna tower would be 745 foot tall and located at 430 29' 20.57"

N and 1160 42' 22.48" W.  This places the antenna south of Lake Lowell, near

Pickles Butte and a little West of a line between the Nampa airport (S67) and

Sunrise SkyPark.  It would be in the practice area where students practice, CFIs

teach and pilot examiners give examinations.

Attached is an aerial view to give you an idea of its proposed location.

Please respond either in favor or opposed to the proposed tower so the FAA and

other officials will know what our wishes are.

Thank you for your help with this.
